This one is a perfect haiku with the surprise at the end :)
I like this..the patches carried the double meaning of age spots on the skin, too, for me.
Pat is about to embark on gardening for the first time. I'm an interested observer. A timely ku for us.
I like the words "perennial patches". It conjures up images in my mind.
