I never knew what it was like to have a grandpa. I did have a granny, but didn't see her often due to my parents' divorce.

I do feel I missed out on having a grandpa to bounce me on his knee, and tell me I was his girl....

Michele sent me to say hi, shane :-)

That's a gorgeous image evoked by the combination of the title, the picture and the text. My grandpa had a trick he used to do with a pair of corks that still never fails to amuse....
Michele sent me.

Shane,

My grandfather wasn't much of a trickster, but the sentiment of the haiga is spot on. Great little site. Michele sent me and I'm quite glad she did.

You've awoken incredibly strong memories of a man who influenced my life in more ways than I understand. I'm a writer because of my grandfather, and the kitchen table where he would weave endless and endlessly rich stories had a tablecloth just like this.

I close my eyes and I can still see it.

You have an amazing gift, Shane. Michele concurs with me.

This is another fantastic piece... IT would look great as a background for a blog...

Here from Michele's, although Carmi beat me to you (I thought I would stop by all the same!!!

My grandpa's trick to get me out of bed in the morning was singing a song he made up. Can't believe I miss it now!

Both my grandfathers died when I was a baby. But I'm about to become a grandfather (due 8/17) for the first time at 74.

Your ku is a charmer.

Mr. kenju's favorite trick for children is the thumb that comes apart!
